Getting to budaveg
The easiest way is to tick airport pick up in your booking, so I collect you at the airport and can give you detailed info about Budapest on the way. I recommend this if you arrive to Terminal 2. You can also take a taxi from the terminal building.
There is a train link between Ferihegy Terminal 1 and Nyugati railway station, from there the budaveg vegetarian apartment is a 10 minute walk. It takes half an hour and goes roughly every half an hour. If you arrive to Terminal 1 (all low cost flights) I recommend you taking this train, it is quick and cheap. Make sure you buy your ticket in the terminal building, for the timetable click here!
It takes around an hour an a half to get to budaveg by public transport. Take the airport bus in front of the terminal till the other destination and change there to the blue metro and get off at Lehel Ter station. Make sure you buy tickets in advance and punch one on the bus and the second at the entrance of the metro.
Getting around
Budapest has an excellent public transport system with 3 metro lines, over 200 bus lines, trams, trolley busses, suburban trains and even a cog wheel railway. It is very reasonably priced, you can get single tickets or travel cards, for pricing and timetable see the BKV website.
The apartment is just a few minutes’ walk away from the main attractions; it’s in the heart of the city. The nearest Metro: is a 5 minute walk the Lehel tér station is on the blue line, which runs North-South and connects with the other two lines at Deak Ferenc tér. The nearest trams: 4 and 6 which run around the whole city – nearest stops are Nyugati tér and Jászai Mari tér on the Szent István Körút. You’ll find the bus 15 right in front of the flat which takes you downtown, and there are two trolley busses one takes you to the Keleti Railway Station and the other to the City Park.
Open the budaveg google map to see the location of the apartment and the sights, you can book the budaveg apartment here and remember to book a guided tour for your holiday! If you have any questions get in touch with us via email or facebook, or ask us a question via formspring, we are always happy to meet and greet the travelling vegetarians!
What do you think, how was your holiday?

Thank you for everything, the apartment is really lovely and spacious, a home away from home, and Zsofi and James are the best hosts, and special thanks for those vegan banana muffins!
Enjoyed two excellent stays at the Budaveg apartment. It is clean, comfortable and attractive, and provides everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay in Budapest. The central location makes sight-seeing easy, while the apartment is well equipped and you can even have your groceries ready and waiting for you on your arrival. It offers outstanding value for money. Highly recommended.
Thanks to Zsofi and James our 5 night stay in their large apartment was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. We were picked up from the airport and were given information on all of the best things to do and see during out stay. They told us the best boat to take a river cruise and what spa to go visit. And the list of restaurants was fantastic! The apartment is lovely and was perfect for our family of 4. It is just 3 short blocks to the metro. I would definetly stay there again! Thanks Zsofi and James for a memorable trip!
Thanks to Zsofi and James who picked us up from the airport. we stayed 6 nights in the roomy appartment, which was like a home away from home. the appartment was suitably furnished, with complete laundry and kitchen. the kitchen was stocked with some classic food basics and Zsofi had even baked some fresh vegan muffins for us to enjoy. the local info provided re vegatarian and vegan dining and shopping was super helpful, and the local market – about 5 mins away- had an organic (Bio) store. just as close was the metro and a 7-11 type store. we did walk to town from the appartment once, but the metro is a super quick way to get to your destination. i would like to spend more time in Budapest, and plan to stay here again. many thanks guys, till next time.
Thanks Sean, hope to see you again sometime!
Thank you for a fantastic stay – the details here on the website are very accurate. It’s very conveniently located and a really comfy flat. Szofi’s advice is “spot on”. It’s great not to worry about being vegetarian/vegan when on holiday! We’ll be back.
We were really happy that we booked the apartment for our stay in Budapest. With our 2 years old daughter it was absolutely great to have our own nice and clean apartment with a kitchen and even toys for our daughter.
Thanks to Zsofi and James we had a easy and relaxing stay. They know whats worth to visit with kids, helped to find a child doctor and took care of us. It was good to know that we can ask Zsofi and James for help when in trouble. With a small family you probably can’t find a better place to stay in Budapest (and as vegetarians I’m sure it’s even impossible).
Thanks a lot
