Ice cream is important, at least for me and I’ll travel far and wide for good ice cream so the moment i heard about Gelarto Rosa I was impatient to get the family in the city to try it. They are right next to the St. Stephan’s Basilica in the city centre, a short walk from Deák Metro station.

The owner apparently learnt the trade in Italy, naturalmente, and not only do they make amazing ice cream from quality ingredients it is also formed in a shape of a rose! Now how cool is that?

Apart from the traditional flavours they have poppy seed and strawberry with elderflower (delicious) and lots of other equally exciting options, but we limited ourselves to two flavors each, well there is always next time.
Some flavours are prepared with birch sugar which supposed to be less nasty than white sugar and suitable for people on a candida diet.
And here comes the best part: only vanilla contains eggs, the other creamy flavours are lacto vegetarian, and all the fruit flavours are vegan, all sorbet ice cream! So just go for it,it is seriously good!
